Apostolic Identity

DEFINING OUR SPIRITUAL AND APOSTOLIC IDENTITY

WE ARE TRYING TO REDISCOVER THE FOUNTAINS OF LIVING WATER WITH WHICH THE SPIRIT RENEWS THE HEART OF EACH PERSON, GIVING FREEDOM, LOVE AND SOLIDARITY.

We believe that our specific mission, spiritually as well as apostolically, is related to the future of the Church, and thus belongs to the eschatological order that is pressing in many ways to manifest itself in historical time, and precisely here is where what we calld to make real finds its space.

We have the inner certainty that we can see our road lit by the power that moved Moses to march to the promised land—the power that sustained him through the whole length of the desert journey and by which he saw that he had to begin and take a first step, even though the route to the goal might not be very logical or direct, for it was necessary to risk the complications, roughness and uncertainties of the immense desert, and even though at the end he did not get to enter the promised land but only saw it dimly in the distance.

This seeking process implies, as a first step, the disposition to offer all our lives to promote unity among Christians so that the liberating power of the Gospel may shine in the life of every human being.

From this perspective, our mission today consists first of all in emptying ourselves of ourselves, in renouncing every security and in being radically and wholly at the disposal of the Lord, with the certainty that that is the condition that He asks in order to use us, in spite of our smallness, unworthiness and ineptitude, for the actualization of his work of salvation. Every day we recognize anew that we have nothing in order to give to God the opportunity that He be our all.
